Oh my wise fellow UC'ers,
First thank you for reading this. Your time out of the bathroom is precious and limited. I appreciate that.
Second, was on Lialda (along with Rowasa enemas, daily, and Canasa, suppositories, daily) 2 pills, once per day. Started 6/18/14. Within three days I felt like I had enough energy to run a marathon. I had a slight headache, but nothing major. Then, I started getting migraines. Blinding, vomiting type migraines. I tried to ride it out hoping that would go away. It didnt and after 4 weeks, I stopped taking it.
Now my doctor wants me to start Uceris. It took three days for my pharmacy to get it in stock, and Im supposed to start it today. I called and asked my Dr. to put me on Apriso and then I called about Colazol. His nurse called me back to say no to both with the explanation that it is likely that I would have the same reaction.
Right now I have little energy, I feel bloated, I have cramps, and my rectum feels swollen and painful. No blood. Pebbly poops (3-4 times a day).
Did anyone fail with Liadla and have success with another oral 5 ASA? This is the IBD program at Hopkins. I just switched to them from another Dr. that was a complete prick. I dont want to change again, but I'm wondering why he wont give me another trial of 5 ASA's or at least call me back HIMSELF to explain why. Please help.
