scared for my moms colonoscopy thurs. her resuts..

    hi everyone,

its been a while since I've been on . I have uc and I've been doing pretty well.

my mom however, shes been bleeding for over 2 months never told me how

serous its been. I found out from my sister tonight.

now of course i'm thinking CANCER. i'm freaking out. she has her colonoscoy thurs im bringing her. reason for it was that the biopsy her doctor saw had abnormalties thru another process a month ago.

I cant stop crying. i'm thinking the worst because I have UC and this is why I've been on her for years shes 71 to get colonoscopies and she'd never go.

stubburn and now this.

just lost a good friend to cancer and my uncle and i'm just scared as heck.

can anyone give me some advice or if you or someone has been thru this ?

It is human nature to think the worst and worry. Be strong for your mom and that type of stress can not be good for your UC. My mom had colon cancer at age 70 and happy to report she is still doing well at 85. Early detection is great.... and with so many treatments out there it is a blessing.

Last 2 weeks we went through the same thing of worry before her biopsy. . Biopsy done and I was told by her Dr to prepare her for the worst..it looked bad.... final report came back ok. She is a 3 time cancer patient.

We just never know....stay strong and will keep you in our prayers.

Thank you so much for your reply you just took so much worry off my shoulders. I'm so happy to hear your mom is going strong :-)
I just over worry because I suffer with UC so once I hear BLOOD in the stool or rectum I get so nervous.
I will get some sleep tonight , thank you again for replying

as we know there are lots of things that can cause blood... blood always has me on edge too! But hopefully its not something too serious!

It helps that your mom has such a good supportive daughter!

Stay strong and remember to try to not think thr worse! Hard to do but you'll appreciate the less stress... and so will your UC! :)

I hope the biopsies will reveal what's going on.

It's easy to think the worst. It's a normal reaction until you know what you're dealing with.
