Burning hot itchy feet at night and nausea

So i have been on 50mg 6mp for 2 months now. And been on entocort 6 mg - 9 mg for 1.5 months, followed by Uceris 9mg for 1 month (will be one month this tuesday). I have been feeling some steroid side effects like anxiety and insomnia so i have not taken my Uceris the past 2 days and instead took 3mg entocort yesterday and today (in an attempt to taper).

Other unexpected and unexplained symptoms which im not sure are related to steroids or the 6mp are: past 5 days been getting really itchy soles (of both feet). They burn and feel hot and itchy. They are not red or peeling or swollen or anything; visually they look normal.
This is happening only at night, i just got woken up from sleep (it's 3 am here now) by this uncomfortable hot itchy sensation. It's like you have scraped the soles of your feet.

Other thing is im feeling more nauseous after taking 6mp (i take it after dinner) and my throat feels sore. My son has a fever and a sore throat too so maybe i picked something off him?

But the main thing is the itchy feet soles. Any ideas what these could be? Im worried becaude a quick search showed it can be a sign of peripheral neuropathy, or diabetes!
FYI im no overweight at all, and eat healthy, little carbs.

I'll call the doc on monday but just wanted your opinions....

I'm not sure about the itchy feet, but I think it is pretty common to have some nausea on 6mp until you build up a tolerance.

I had this reaction from lialda- itchy body parts on FIRE- but not any other drugs. My neuropathy worsened a ton on 6mp though but my system handles imuran fine.

Yes i was very hesitant to take it. Very. But i got no choice because my UC is severe. And no diet has helped it, or natural supplement.

@ Guardian: if i had a fungal thing going on wouldn't i have other signs? Like discharge/red rash/white rash etc? Because there is nothing. Visually my feet look normal. I do not have this anywhere else except the soles. I dont know. I called my GI and waiting for her to get back to me.

Really NCOT? Thats interesting. None of the supplements you mentioned are things my body tolerates, so can't try them. Fish oil in particular is quite tough on my colon.

I started applying OTC antifungal cream to my feet today, just in case it is fungal.

My GI hasn't gotten back to me yet, i'll have to call her tomorrow again. Sometimes she sends scripts in the mail, based on what i tell the nurse.

But yeh i feel totally sleep deprived, waking up at night the past 3-4 days bc of the itch. So annoying!

Yep, same for me. My feet were fine in the daytime; it was only when I was lying down - the more still I was, the worse it got - that they started burning and itching.

As for the supplements, I now can apparently tolerate all the things I couldn't before when I still had a colon and was severely flaring: oral iron, SSRIs, etc. Probs could even take mesalazine (not that I'm going to). Besides, I think it is unlikely anything I listed helped, except for maybe the iron. Speaking of which, how are your iron levels? I don't know if it's connected or not, but my ferritin had a steep drop from 68 to 14 (hence why my GP prescribed me the iron in the first place). In the past I usually got Restless Legs Syndrome whenever my anaemia got bad enough; maybe the burning feet is some kind of funky variant of RLS.

For relief, try immersing your feet in a bowl of cool water for 10-15 minutes. It's boring, but I found that sometimes gave me relief for long enough to be able to drop off to sleep. Whatever you've got, it sounds exactly like what I had, down to the tingly, prickly feeling.

Hopefully it'll go away soon. I'm sure it isn't permanent, but it's horrible while it's happening... :-/

An update: since i started the OTC antifungal (active ingredient clotrimazole) i have been mostly itch free. I went to my GP and she suggested i keep using it twice/day for 4 weeks.

But the sore throat is still there. Not sure what is causing it. Im using Betadine sore throat gargle, also salt water gargle. But it's still there ever since i made this post. Visually my throat looks red and swollen. My suspicion is that the dry cold weather here in Oz is causing irritation in my throat. If it continues i'll get a throat swab. The GP felt it was unnecessary when i saw her and said to try salt water gargle first.
