Many years ago (decades) I was being helped by a very skilful Acupuncturist who was interested in using a TENS machine to activate points along the 'meridians'. I designed a basic model for him - long before they became so cheap and popular!
Since then I have always kept one on hand. They are excellent for relieving deep muscular pain, and also for general relaxation (I do not use it for triggering acupuncture points.)
The only advice I would offer is that they be used on the lowest setting, and that usage always feels comfortable. The body is a sensitive thing.
If you are trying to relieve cramping pain, it may well be of benefit (I found it to be.) Place the electrodes on either side of the region that you want to treat. Be gentle.
Good luck.
