I apologize for the TMI....I had my scope on Wednesday last week. Since then I had very little actually BM. Mostly been having gas with mucus, with a tiny bit of loose stools, but I wasn't uncomfortable as far as feeling like I needed to have a BM. This morning had some oats. about
45 min later I had a lot of very painful gas and then a large amount of pretty solid BM. Was I constipated and the oats moved this along or was this a bad reaction to the oats? And how do I tell the difference. I hate this.

How did you feel after the BM? Have you eaten anything since?

I felt a little shaky. Still feel a bit gassy. Haven't eaten, not sure I dare.

The only way to know if you were constipated and if he oats helped is to try eating them again. If you have a bad reaction, don't eat them anymore.

I vote for slow bowels post scope and a painful catch-up day.

Thank you both. I am going to avoid them for a bit and try again. I guess that will help to know for sure. I am hoping it's just slow bowels due to the scope. I love oats!

Ditto kazbern. Oats can give me extra gas if I eat a lot of them. Scopes can definitely irritate things in the colon, so it's not too surprising that you're having some problems with things that normally don't bother you.

My bowels took ages to get back to normal after my scope. I had a lot of gassy discomfort nd didn't have a "proper" bm for a few days. Infact I think I took some Fybogel in the end. I think what you are experiencing is typical after a scope.

Thank you all. Good to know this is typical after a scope. I had no idea what to expect. I have been pretty much eating just meat and eggs since then LOL
