garylouisville, I'm taking One a day TruBiotics. I've only experimented with a few probiotics before that one and it seemed to help me a good bit and I'm a bit wary of trying others in case they do nothing. As for my current meds, I assumed I would need to stick to my current regiment because I've read about
what happens to some people when they relapse. My GI did tell me about
some other medications I could take, and they sound pretty rough, so I definitely want to avoid those as long as possible.
iPoop, according to my GI, my colon hasn't recovered from whatever it was going through prior to treatment. I'll ask her for some clarification at my next appointment because hopefully I'm misunderstanding something.
bananagirl, my GI doesn't seem to think I need another colonoscopy just yet since I don't have any other symptoms, and I'm also not going to suggest that I need one, either. As I mentioned above, I'm not comfortable trying out new meds yet because they sound they are a lot of trouble. One of them was an immunosuppressant (can't think of the name), but I would need to get a lot of work done every two weeks for a few months. The other was a steroid shot, which I also don't want to take because of the side effects. My job can pretty frustrating, so I don't think steroids would be a good idea for me.
