I remember a few people trying worm therapy for UC and possibly Crohn's but what I do not remember is hearing of any substantial success stories with it.... Perhaps there was a few??

Interesting. I have always felt that the "western diet" has been used as an easy scapegoat when it is other things that are actually responsible, not saying that the western diet is a good thing. I believe there have been some helped by worm therapies but not on a large scale. I wonder if this article is trying to say that they are working on a different kind of immune suppressor, as in a long term treatment strategy instead of a cure. It's nice to see new avenues open up but I would personally like to see more progress in areas that don't purposely weaken the immune system. It seem to me like this is always a trade off issue with other health issues developing due to the treatment. But, progress is progress.
