I was with my GI last Friday, as a follow-up to my last scope, bloods & the first two doses of Remi. As the first two doses weren't doing anything, I was still bleeding & going up to 15 times a day (during the night also) and in a lot of pain, he's decided to do an accelerated dose on me. So I got my next dose that day (a week earlier than i should have, at week 5) and he's going to try me every 6 weeks, instead of every 8. I got pred enemas too to try, and VSL#3 probiotics.
In the last week my BMs have almost slowed waaay down - slowed down too much for me! I don't know if it's the Remi working (fingers crossed!) or what but I've only gone 3 times since and feel very constipated. I've tried increasing my fibre (I was having none before) which helped me go one of the times but it isn't helping much anymore. When I have gone, the BMs are the most solid they've been in a long time, but aren't normal - very thin, mucous & quite soft - and EXTREMELY painful. It feels like a hot poker shoved up there, along with a lot of involuntary straining.
I don't feel any better either since the D stopped - I'm still in a lot of pain, I feel very full & bloated, I've awful painful gurgles in my stomach and mainly my rectum (assuming from supp & enemas), I feel sick in general and so exhausted.
I guess what I'm asking is there any way to try get me moving again, without causing D to happen - I know there's a fine balance! I have psyllium husks in the house, which were used by someone else for constipation, but I'm not sure if that would aggravate my colon even more? I've read many conflicting things about them online.
To be honest, at the moment I would say I felt better empty than all stuffed up like this!
Any suggestions or opinions welcome! Thanks guys!
