Think this was the hardest med to get since starting UC treatments. Pharmacy lost papers starting 8-9-2014(sent 4 times) approved 8/28/2014. Worked with local hospital to do infusion but talked to 5 people and had as many answers on how to proceed. They did not share it with the right departments and delayed another week. Pharmacy shipped med, the hospital did not want to accept because MD had not sent them a written order. That process started before the med even shipped. Finally got that cleared... pharmacy shipped and orders received, then hospital pharmacy was closing before UPS got there...Ups was to deliver before noon........... got there after 5::30p.... had to cancel infusion because staff wanted to go home. I called pharmacy to make sure med was received at the right department, it was there. I asked pharmacy staff if the refrigerated it on receipt, God BLess.... they asked why? Had to remind them to read the box.... Said
open immediately.....refrigerate. The only reason I called is I know some of the staff there and know you better follow up. Before the med order was received.... I had to threaten to go directly to the hospital administrator after 5 different people had 5 different ideas on how it should be handled. After that it was smooth sailing at the hospital...Bet I pay for it with the IV stick.
Infusion set for Monday.. I hope it works.
By the way it you look on the enytvio web site.... you have your MD enroll you in enytivo connect which will pay for part of you copay with insurance. Your med should be about $50 per treatment. My copay is $40 now but will go up to $250 Oct 1st.
Thanks for letting me vent.. Everyone have a blessed week.
