Can meds make flares worse?

I think a lot of doctors are reluctant to prescribe rectal meds due to patient non-compliance. I think it is like doctors telling fat people to lose weight and smokers to quit smoking. They have a lot of experience with patient non-compliance so they just brush it off as being a waste of time and don't prescribe rectals to anyone. That is a disservice to the people that actually would be compliant.

I agree with garylouisville, my doctor wanted to put me on pred and I declined and after reading on this forum about hydrocortisone enemas I asked him for them instead. His reply was that you would have to hold them all night. So I was a little concerned that I wouldn't be able to do that after that statement, but I had no problem at all.
