15 to 20 bloody stools but blood tests are fine

Hi everyone, I'm new on the forum. My question is I have gone to the ER WITH 15 To 20 Bloody Stools A day, Vomiting Severe Pain AND Nausea AND THE Doctors Say My Tests Are perfect. I don't understand? Then the doctors team me like a drug seeker even though I take NO pain management at home even though I've been given prescriptions, not sure what to do?

It's better to have a stool test first. When I am flaring with uc my blood tests pretty much always come back fine too but when I do the calprotectin/stool test, inflammation is high showing there is inflammation in some part of my colon suggesting that I am flaring. That's what you need to ask them to do. Are you known to a gastroenterologist yet?

Your symptoms sound bad so I would rely kick up a fuss and get further tests ordered before you get really ill.

Something's not right with your story. I'm not sure what it is but the doctors should investigate your complaint further. They should already know that lots of things don't show up in a blood test. You should make an appointment with your regular doctor who can refer you to a GI. Maybe the way it all went down did make you look like a drug seeker. ER doctors can often be worthless.

Do you have a GI doctor? Have you had a colonoscopy to confirm UC?

I have had good blood work during a bad flare up. Not every flare up is going to show inflammatory markers elevated in blood work. I am not familiar with your full story but did they do a scope to check out the cause of the symptoms?

To kind of answer everyone's questions, I have had this since I was 9 years old but misdiagnosed until I was 23, that is when I had my first colonoscopy and actually diagnosed with severe U and spend almost 3 months in the hospital. I have NEVER had an er doc ask for a stool sample but I did offer one my last hospital stay and they refused then asked after I was so backed up from the pain meds I couldn't produce one. UP DATE though I went back to the er this morning and they did a cat scan and found terrible inflammation and also some kind of mass that they are now investigating.
