Advice needed- on when to stop steroid enemas

hi yalll
ive been on steroid enemas now for just over 2 weeks, i dont get blood anymore but i still consistently with every bowel seem to get mucous, sometimes more some days less, but consistently mucous so i know im not fully out of the flare yet.

my doctor is also still on holidays and last time took me off these enemas way too soon ( after 2 weeks) and blood came back as some background.

so do i stay on this till the 21 day mark and then taper even though im assuming ill still be getting mucous?
OR do i stay on the enemas for a month and see if the mucous goes away and then taper ?

my concern is the mucous either way i dont think will go away... i say this since a few years ago when i was on these enemas the mucous fully went away and blood and fast, where as this time around the mucous seems to be continually lingering.

so do i even bother staying on them longer, any thoughts MUCH MUCH appreciated.

I would assume your doctor would want you to stay on the enemas until your symptoms are gone.
you are still having symptoms, so stay on them.

And when you say taper - do you mean completely??
Or taper down to a maintenance dose? Like eventually 2x a week.

It's important to stay on the meds until they get you out of the flare. And then stay on a maintenance dose to keep another flare from coming on.
