Marinol for UC?

Has anyone had any success with marinol for their UC?

From wikipedia, it states that CB1 receptors in the intestinal lining promote healing and can be activated via cannabis:

Marinol is a CB1 agonist per http://clinicaltrials.gov/show/NCT00760695, so it would seem that Marinol may also work for UC?

Has anyone tried getting their doctors to prescribe this drug? It seems like a long shot but if you could just find 1 doctor I bet it would allow patients in non medical marijuana states access to some of the benefits of CB1 agonists.

You might get a doctor to write it but it is really expensive and I doubt insurance would pay. A friend tried it for chronic pain and was still fighting insurance when they legalized medical pot in his state. He did not like it as much as pot. Said that marinol really knocked you out and made you paranoid.
