Violent diaherrea!

I've been taking the azathioprine and allopurinol combo for two weeks and even though my BM were still resembling mush, I felt I was getting a little better with BM reduced to once a day and not much pain/noise in colon. However all of a sudden yesterday I have been having violent diaherrea. There isn't blood or mucus (apart from a small amount of blood because I am still in a flare) but feels to me like when I had gastroenteritis. The sudden onset of violent diaherrea is not usually how I have a flare. It's more gradual.

What does everyone think? I'm not sure of it's linked to UC or not.

Are you lactose or gluten intolerant? That can cause those symptoms.

I agree that it sounds like you have a virus or perhaps a foodborne pathogen. If you're on probiotics, I'd up it considerably right now.

I am already on immunosuppressants so hopefully immune system should stay suppressed. I am soooo ill :( feel terrible. I am getting horrid cramps just before I need to go to the loo and it's all over my abdomen and not just left side which is what it is confined to when colitis related. I don't have a fever.
