I've had UC for 20 years and I took the Asacol 400mg for 15 years and never had any problems until Warner decided to play games at our expense. I read all the online comments and watched the You Tube video with the surprise inside the Delzicol capsule. So I tried the Delzicol without the capsule and I suffered for an entire week with abdominal pain and cramping. I had diarrhea. I thought I was going to end up in the E.R. with a flare up for sure. I don't understand why Delzicol has to be taken in a ridiculous capsule and on an empty stomach or 2 hours after a meal. I took the Delzicol 2 hours after meals for a few days and it got even worse. I was SICK and being tortured. I called my doctor and requested Asacol HD 800mg. I read online Asacol HD 800g is coated the same way the old Asacol 400mg was coated. You know..the one that causes laboratory rats to have birth defects? Warner had to remove this coating on the 400mg for our safety but never did any clinical trials on humans to see how effective it would be in a capsule. Well I tried their little experiment and paid dearly for it. I started taking the Asacol HD 800mg 2 days ago. I feel so much better. OMG. The main issue is Asacol HD 800mg is off the FORMULARY and in order for your doctor to request Asacol HD 800mg I guess we have to suffer and complain before it can be prescribed. What a bunch of crap. Bottom line my fellow UC online friends....when your Asacol 400mg runs out switch to Asacol HD 800mg. Don't suffer taking the Delzicol and the Mickey Mouse way you need to ingest it. Delzicol doesn't dissolve properly no matter how you take it. I should have shoved it up my ass and maybe it would have worked. I hope this helps all the people that wrote comments on this website about

MONEY. The FORMULARY and the insurance companies folks before we can get the medicine that will work. Not about
our disease. Unfortunate for all of us.
