So I had my colonoscopy. My results says proctitis has returned to original diagnosis. Mild inflammation 8cm of rectum. Pryor to having colonoscopy I had constipation issues. Bleeding, mucous around stool. No urgency. The colonoscopy left me with diareah for over a week. This has never happened before. Since colonoscopy I've increased fibre, and water intake. I'm drinking 3ltrs a day. I'm taking slippery elm. And have started olive leaf extract. I'm also using mercola whey concentrate. I've got no bleeding, absolutely no mucous. Smooth well formed stools. No urgency. The only thing I've noticed is burning in my rectum for a few minutes after a go to toilet. I've never had that as a symptom before. I have an appointment in Nov to see GI. My plan is to have another fecal calprotectin done before I see him. My last results from that were around 1000, up from 91.. The strangest part of this. My scope two years Pryor I went in with bleeding, puss, mucous and results showed no visible proctitis.. This time, I had less symptoms but visible signs of inflammation.. My question is, could constipation have aggravated it causing it's return?
