Yeah that's pretty darn high! How are you feeling?

I feel terrible. I have a lot of blood now in my stool. It's all gone crazy because I got gastroentoritis and have been throwing up and been on the loo all day for the past two days. I ended up in hospital for dehydration! They have put me on oral steroids now so hopefully they will kick in. But they told me 39 wasn't that high?! I knew it was!

It's definitely not normal. But it's not that high in terms of an infection or other serious trauma, where the CRP can reach 300-400.
That said, some people's CRP never seems to rise very much - it's a bit of a mystery. I think doctors set too much store by it sometimes. Hope you feel better soon.

You need to know the units. If it is mg/L if mg/mL or g/L
If they said it was not high, maybe it is a units issue.

g/L is the older, less sensitive, test. If NHS hospitals have been using hs-CRP tests for years, then I'm amazed that some labs in the US or Canada don't seem to have cottoned onto them yet.
