Hahaha. I was just sitting at my desk going over papers while my wife handed out candy earlier and felt in the festive mood.

It's interesting how the kids change as the evening goes on. At first it's little ones fully dressed up, then a bit older but still with a parent, then groups without parents... and then half an hour later than any other person a kid maybe 13 showed up with a bandana on as his costume. I told him take whatever he wanted, haha.

My neighbor across the street has their yard decked out like a cemetary, with fog machines and lighting... I have... a porch light turned on. Our candy was good though!

We have been in this new house just for a year and a half. We live on a small drive and being used to living in an area that had a ton of kids I bought lots of candy last year. We only got about 20 kids - needless to say we had a lot of candy left over.

This year I only bought a bag of candy, guess what? Yep we had more kids this year and I ran out of candy! Which is odd because it was cold (40 with wind chill of 30), rainy with snow mixed and super windy. I didn't think we would get many kids lol

We had a crazy night between my kids going out (and me trudging along with them in the cold rain) and all the kids who came by. We gave out 500 pieces of candy last night.

All we got was 2 kids that came together last night and we bought about 100.00 worth of candy...granted we aren't at our house where we generally live and get a lot of Halloweeners , since hubby and son are working 10 day shifts just out of town since early summer, they bought a small house rather than hoteling it so I finally came with them to help with cleaning, cooking and laundry and we thought there would be a ton of kids trick or treating but there were hardly any...lots of candy/chips for the guys to eat I guess lol (they have a room mate paying the mortgage which is a little weird for me "living' with a stranger, but he's my son's age so it's like having another kid in the house again).

We live in a neighborhood that's mostly adults, and we just don't get any goblins here. We finally admitted we were only buying the candy so we could say "Oops, no trick or treaters this year?" and eat it ourselves, lol.

I really don't miss getting up and down every two minutes to answer the door. I never loved Halloween, even as a child.

We didn't get any kids knocking on our door, in fact I think I would have been terrified if I had heard someone knocking ha ha..I'm pretty isolated, dirt track road, no street lights and its sometimes very foggy!

Pb4 Arent you in a lovely part of the world, Alberta, Canada? I expect its lovely there at this time of the year...

Hey Poppie, yes I'm in Alberta and it's been unusually nice for this time of year (NOT COMPLAINING AT ALL, I HATE THE COLD lol) that's partly why I was so shocked we didn't get more kids last night...usually it's snowing and minus 20 or colder at this time of year.

Not too surprised you didn't get any kids trecking up to the top of the mountain you live on Poppie for candy lol.
