Ok so if its not one things its another. I think I have developed piles or haemorrhoids. I bought an over the counter suppositories for it which are fine to use with UC,

However I have noticed that I am getting a lot of rumblings right in my butt and nowhere else. It is quite loud too and started happening today after I used the suppositories last night and this morning. Is this low level inflammation due to UC or is it something to do with the piles? Does the haemmoroid tteatment make you more gassy? It's weird as it's only right in my butt and my colitis is all through my left side.

I went down to 30mg pred today. My stools are fine and all symptoms are gone apart from this low level rumbling which I am not sure is linked. I have to start tapering now though as I have been on 40mg for two weeks.

I don't know about hemmie meds causing the rumblings you mentioned...I do know that as soon as I started to taper off pred (the first time when it worked the best) I started getting more and more IBD symptoms reappearing so it could very well be the pred taper casuing symptoms to start coming back. YOu should probably get the hemmie checked out though, when it comes to IBD things aren't always as they appear.

Well it was definitely the hemmie med that was causing the butt rumblings! I refrained from using the meds last night and this morning and I have no issue with the noises! That's a relief!

What kind of med is it? cortisone suppositories are good for hemmies and they shouldn't cause rumbling. I find that mine just take time to go away. Of course having normal stools and not uc stools helps... Unfortunately I never have good bms
