Advice needed for self

All of you are aware my daughter was diagnosed with colitis last year and last week with C Diff. Now this post is for myself.

2 weeks back I got heavy blood in my stools.

1>Stools were formed and was having bowel moment 3-4 times (my usual for last 40 years). Bristol stool chart 5.
2>blood stopped next day and had mild spotting for 2 days
3> No abdominal pain or what so ever

Went to my primary case physician and he said that he saw an internal hemorrhoid. I got my ESR,CRP, Calprotection and fecal lactoferrin

ESR came high at 43
CRP came normal
Calprotectin came normal
fecal lactoferrin came normal

Went to local GI who did not spend more than 10 mins and he did not check for hemorrhoid and said he wanted to do endoscopy. Have another appt with a different gi who was recommended by "guardian7" for tomorrow.

What shall I do? Go for endoscopy or do nothing and think it is hemorrhoid. If high ESR is not from colitis then why is it so high?

ESR does not discriminate, but fecal calprotectin does. I wouldn't spend a lot of time worrying about a one time event like you describe.

They tested for C Diff. (In fact I went to my primary care doctor with list of tests) and C Diff came negative.
Keeping my fingers crossed for tomorrow appointment.
My only worry is high ESR. If it is not colitis, is the inflammation for another disease like RA or Psoriasis or something.

I have met this years insurance deductible. I do not have to spend a penny for my endoscopy. But next year have a 8000$ deductible. Confused whether to get endoscopy done or not.
