Pred dosage

I am on 40 mg of pred for a flare and will taper off within 4 weeks. I am also on 100 mg of imuran. Haven't been on pred in years bc I've been doig so well...but I've been having horrible jitters, insomnia, and anxiousness with the pred. Never before been a problem.

To combat this, I decided to take 20 mg twice a day instead of every 6 hours, so that Id have a fighting chance to sleep at night. Sleep worked well last night! But then woke up with blood in stool. Back to the every 6 hours or stick with the two doses per day? I hate pred so much! Just wanna do what I have to to get off this stuff!

I'd take the full 40mgs all at once, first thing in the morning as it'll give you the best odds of sleeping. 40mgs gave me insomnia, night sweats, anxiousness as well. Disappeared when I was at 20mgs. Pred works but the side effects suck. Hang in there.

Thanks. I do that today and I'm hoping I will help again. All day, however, I felt like I was on speed!fiballt feeling a little more relaxed.
