It sounds really geared towards Crohn's. Do you think they would do it for UC? I know we had some people in the multistem trial a while ago. I wonder how that is going...

This is early days. No clinical trials yet. Some case reports and pliot studies suggest some benefit for autoimmune in arthritis and multiple sclerosis.

I think clinics can also offer the procedure because it is not a drug, so the review for a procedure is a different path than the review of a drug.

If the primary pathogenesis is in immune as opposed to mucosal lining or gut microbes, this could help.

Does seem fairly safe. I doubt there is any insurance coverage at this point.

well, you have found the procedure in TX. I was only intending to show that clinical trials were underway - even if out of country.

A lot of various stem cell treatments have been developed in other countries.

I ended up at a Texas clinic when googling. Thought it was from your link, but must have been one hop further along. There are private clinics in many states offering non-amplified autologous stem cell therapy.

Stem cells from your fatty tissue get injected into your blood stream about 5 days after collection. Little chance of rejection, but I wonder about the cost. Not something insurance will cover.

I hope if trials bear out, that one day insurance will cover.

it does seem like there should be some people who have tried - even if the cost prevents most people form trying. (I think it can run tens of thousands or higher).
