remicade vs entyvio

I guess my next option is either remicade or entyvio. Which one is cheaper and more exffective. I have a very high deductible and being single earner cost is a major factor.

Remicade. But you need to take it with another med to prevent antibodies. Entyevo is brand new and expensive. Remicade may be a few percent more effective, but no direct comparison study has been made. But compared to placebo, Remicade seems to be about 4% better.

There is some sort of Remistart program that might help. If you cannot get an assistance program, then either drug, I think you are going to have to meet your full delectable with the 1st few treatments - hopefully you have a cap.

First you need to check with your insurance to see if either one are covered. They may make you do something else. Many don't cover Entyvio.

Remistart covers $10,000 a year with a $5 co-pay. Last year it was $8,000 with $50 co-pay. I would also check out entyvio warriors on fb. Lots of feedback regarding results, side effects, cost and financial assistance.

Most insurance requires you to fail at least one anti-tnf medication before allowing you to go on entvyio.

I vote Remicade too, and either drug will eat up whatever deductible you have. The Remistart folks are great, and it slows down the pain, and helps a lot.
I am concerned about upper respiratory issues with your DD on Remi. Make sure you have that asthma under control and there are no infections before beginning. Also, get any vaccines up to date that use live viruses.
Don't wait too long either, I can't speak to the cascade if FMT fails, but I do know how hard a flare is to get under control when a young person mounts an impressive response. Hang tough.

Remicade will work faster than Entyvio. Take that into consideration as well. Most likely insurance will require you try and fail Remicade before approving Entyvio. Google your insurance company name and "clinical policy bulletin Entyvio" and you should be able to see what they require. Both drugs have co-pay assistance programs. Entyvio will pay all but $50 for each infusion, up to $6500/year.

It should be noted that you may get worse on Entyvio while it begins to work, increasing your chances of worsening the flare to the point where you can't get out. Remicade works very quickly, so that's what I would go with first.

I don't even think entyvio is approved for pediatric use, remicade is. Remicade is more effective from what I've seen.
