for UC where no undetected infection is involved, people report 6-10 procedures are needed over a number of weeks, and then possibly on some regular maintenance schedule. The good outcome seems to be less than 50/50 but higher then the 19 to 20% placebo effect. There are occasional reports of remission after single treatment, but it is not clear if c-diff or other infection was involved, because none of these had proper research controls.
some medical applications for c-diff, use a broad spectrum antibiotic 1st. not clear if this is best for UC.
some think an optimal match between the particular gut microbe disorder of the patient, and the profile of gut microbes in the donor is key. But research has not nailed this down yet.
