Yes, entvyio is a biologic medication. It's given intravenously, as is remicade. But that's probably the only similarity it holds with the others. The rest of the biologics (remi, simponi, humira) are tnf-alpha blockers (which are proteins that signal inflammation within the immune system). Entvyio is instead a madcam1-blocking, anti-adhesion based medication (prevents white blood cells from adhering/passing through capillaries from the circulatory system into gut-specific intestinal tissue where they'd otherwise cause inflammation). So entvyio uses an entirely different mechanism of action then the rest, quite good if you've failed the others...giving some hope.
