This week I have been having a lot of reflux and on and off stomach pain. Haven't been eating much because I'm trying to calm down the acid. Pain is worse and had some rectal bleeding tonight. Have been on nightly Rowasa enemas for 17 years( except when I have a flair up and need something stronger). At comps copy three months ago showed some sigmoid inflammation so was given Canada enemas. Helped a lot. Nurse told me to stop Rowasa. Said didn't need it any more. Haven't taken it in two days. Now in a lot of stomach pain. Can't tell if it's reflux related or UC. Do I take Rowasa tonight or Canasa enemas?

This doesn't make sense to me. I thought Canasa was a suppository not an enema. And I don't think that Canasa can reach as far as Rowasa so I don't know why you were told to stop Rowasa if you had inflammation in your sigmoid. You could use the Rowasa at night and the Canasa in the morning ... won't hurt anything and could give you the boost you need. You should probably also contact your dr and get clarification on what they want you to do. Make sure they know you are having problems.

My first thought is it could be from rectal inflammation. I had upper GI symptoms that were from lower GI inflammation. I would use the rowasa.
