Increase 6mp?

Hi All. It's only been a month and a half on 50mg of 6mp but I can't stand the urgency that never goes away. Saw GI Friday he agreed to do a trial of Canasa to see if that'll help. Started it Friday night, only been two days but I feel as if the urgency is getting slightly worse. I'm not careful with my diet at all. So it can be I ate something that's doing this. Can it be the Canasa making it worse? Do I ask him to up 6mp to 75mg? I don't want this to all spiral downhill. Thanks in advance

You can get tested to see if the metabolites in you blood indicate you are in the therapeutic range for 6mp. If not, more might help. If so, more might hurt.

Just steroid enemas and foam didn't help. Plus lialda

How much do you weigh though? Usual dosing for 6mp is 1-1.5 mg/kg bodyweight.

For example, I weigh 145 pounds or 65kgs. My maximum 6mp dose is 65 x 1.5 or 97.5mgs of 6mp a day. My minimum dose would be 65 x 1.0 or 65mgs a day. My current 6mp dosage is 75mgs a day, pretty much right in the middle.

Yeah, they often start you at 50mgs a day and watch your white blood cell count (can't be too low) and watch your liver enzymes (a marker indicating liver damage may occur). If the blood work is fine then they boost the 6mp dose.
