Purple Stains

I'm so sick of purple stains on my toilet! I used to think it was just from pooping out butt meds but I started to really take note and I realized the splash/splatter stains were even occurring when I was having solid bowel movements, it made no sense! Then I couldn't figure out why they'd reappear the day after I scrubbed it clean, even if I hadnt pooped in it since the cleaning. Well, long story short, the purple stains are coming from my urine! Yup, I'm taking so much mesalamine I'm peeing purple stains. I don't get it at all. My pee is pale yellow, but the stains seam to appear when dried. It's horrifying that it's happening at home on my toilets, but today I realized I'm staining my work toilet!!! as if I'm not already afraid to go over to friends homes (for fear of fouling their toilets with my countless dumps) but now I have to worry about ruining their toilets!!!!

Actually, it turns out if you use a bleach based cleanser in the toilet and are taking a Mesalamine enema, there is a reaction. You can actually test this by cleaning your toilet with bleach, flushing and then peeing. Turn around and watch the pee turn to violet or very dark brown. So what can you do about it? I have the same problem. Anything?

I put wipes by the toilet and wipe down after use.

I think what's most surprising is just how much the urine must be splattering to cause the placement of these stains! Makes me cringe about public restrooms even more! I think some of the splatter is based on the design of my toilet! I see how it flushes and it causes quite the splash up effect. I'm also experimenting with some anti splatter techniques (with toilet paper placed down before going etc) if I find any solid solutions I will post here. My husband thinks if we install a particular low flow toilet (which is quite deep and a certain angle where the waste collects and kind has a more sucking down than splashing up flush technique) it would eliminate a lot of this. Lol, I will try easier methods before I resort to changing out all of my toilets!

Lol. I always close the lid before flushing. The splatters are sometimes even on the underside of the lid when I lift it up later on! Most of it seems to be collecting on the lip just below where the seat is. It's awful!

I have one new toilet and one from the '80s and had similar purple splashes on both, underside of seat and lid until I learned where it was coming from and to wipe down.
It is weird. It doesn't turn dark till later.
