Has anyone had experience with getting off of Humira. Can it be done "cold turkey"? What was the reaction to your system?

Humira has caused other problems for me--skin disease, blood infection, cdiff, low platlets, just to name a few.

Any input?

I had problems as well and switched back to remicade. I had my infusion the day my humira injection was due. It was a not a good drug for me and I wish I had never switched. I was only on it for 3 months. Have you asked your doc about how to stop it?

I did the 4 loading shots on the first day and never took it again!

Humira is quit cold turkey, without issue. It's not prednisone, so there's no withdrawal or other affects.

Thanks for your input. I see my gastro guy in 2 wks and I'm going to see about stopping Humira. I'm on other meds, some for UC and some for the skin condition, including prednisone which I'm at 25 mg/day right now and weaning off it. I'm on Lialda for the UC, don't know if that's enough to keep me in remission...we'll see!

I would imagine you got on the Humira because Lialda wasn't enough? Good luck at the GI. I am sure there are options.

I quit over a year ago. Did well until recently. flairing with drastic weight loss and bruising. Plus so so sleepy.
