Is anyone here able to take Flax seed or Hemp seed without going into a flare?
I've been thinking about
taking it in my smoothies for the health benefits but currently in remission I'm afraid I might go into a flare (I'm VERY paranoid about
eating anything new to me).
How are you guys with it?

I'm not currently flaring with my IBD but I'm still trying to get my IBS-C under control and my dietitian directed me to take black chia seeds and heart hemp seeds so I add them to my wheat free oatmeal every morning as she advised and there's been some improvements so I'm sticking with it.
It's trial and error for each, though many may do fine, others may not so you won't know until you try but you can also start with just a small amount and build up if you're finding you're tolerating it well. Fibers are important as it's a step in the right direction to aiding with bulking up diarrhea and maybe helping find remission but I'm not saying that's all it takes, just that it's another useful tool in helping.

I love the taste and fiber that flax seed and chia seed add to my psyllium fiber drinks I take. But as mentioned above ease into them slowly and they can be of great benefit.

my big-ass salad wouldn't be the same without a big-ass handful of hemp seeds

Flax meal (mixed in organic wholegrain oats): one of the cornerstones of my UC remission.
