Hi, i would like some ideas or advice on how to proceed with dealing with this new dx. a week ago i was having severe abdominal pain and went to er. i had a ct scan and it showed that my entire assending colon is inflamed. they gave me iv levaquin first and i had an allergic reaction to it so then they put me on flagyl. I'm taking it 3 times a day for 10 days. The er doc said that i would have to have a colonoscopy to find out why i am having this inflamation. they sent me home with the antibiotic, pain meds and anti nausea meds. I followed up with my doc few days later and saw the p.a. she gave me script for omeprazole and said she would have me set up for a colonoscopy which would be able to happen as soon as i was almost done with the antibiotics. the gastro place calls me and says they are booked till november. so i had to call me docs office and have them get things moved up, they finally found a gastroenterologist that would be willing to set me up with appointment 2 weeks from now for a consoltation. oh my gosh, alll i want is to have the colonoscopy. they told me the rules have changed about how often someone needs on, used to be every 5 years now it is every 10 and she wanted to know if i had family history, which my dad and his 3 siblings had colon ca in their 60's. i am still feeling miserable from this, pain and nausea, still have to work and live my life. i am on my feet for 10 hours at a time at my job, very active job in nursing. i would just like to get some input from anyone who may be experiencing the same type of thing. sorry so long, appreciate any tips, diet advice, etc. thank you and i hope all of you feel better soon.
