Leg pain in flare

Hi everyone, I have left sided UC and I am in week 7 of a flare. I have started with a lot of pain in my legs and knees. Is this something to worry about or is it quite common when flaring? Thanks

Hello, thanks for replying. I take 2g pentasa tablets a day plus 2g mesalazine enema at night or suppository. Struggling to retain these in the day time. I also take vsl3 probiotics and omega 3 tablets as well

I wouldn't say it is common but UC is an inflammatory disease which can effect other parts of your body, whether you are flaring or even when you are not flaring.

I've had awful leg and rib pain with my first flare. B complex seems to help. I doubled up dose. Hope you're feeling better

What are your potassium levels
Because low potassium causes cramping
Try banana or apricot if that is the problem
If you are having Ds than you will be losing potassium that way

Hi, the hospital are running lots of blood tests at the moment. That'a a really good thought, thank you, I bet it is a deficiency as has taken some weeks of flaring before the cramping started. Thanks for everyone's replies.
