Thank God I was in remission pretty much the last year from a cocktail of Uceris, Apriso, and a fantastic probiotic ( expensive but helped me oh so much ULTIMATE FLORA 50 Billion ).
It took me almost a year to drop the Uceris ( with doctor approval)
But I continue to take my APRISO 7 caps daily to maintain my remission.
In April, 2015 I was diognosed with uterine cancer and had a total
Hysterectomy. I was so scared my colitis would kick in from stress during that time.
That surgery was 8 weeks ago, and NOW my colitis is starting to creep
back up.
You know, that weird sound your stomach starts to make when your colon is agitated. A few bouts with diarrhea, cramps in the night, and plain old fear led to taking a Uceris this morning.
I felt what was sure to come, based on very recognizable symptoms of a potential flare.
It's Friday today. Of course Doc is out until Monday.
Need opinions other than my own, from those familiar with this med.
Took one day, tummy better, all diarrhea stopped, no rumbling from colon, cramps gone.
I was thinking I would not take one tomorrow and see what happens.
( hate side effects of headaches, anxiety, etc from Uceris)
Or plan B, take it until I can connect with doc.
I hate to admit this, but he usually goes with whatever I suggest!
Just don't know about this .
Uceris is not like Pred, and you don't gave to back off of it, if you are using short time...
What does the colon want? Who knows?
We wouldn't be in this endless chronic state if we knew the answers!
