Toradol and colitis

I was just given this medication for abdominal pain but after I researched it on google it says to pretty much not take with ulcerative colitis and that severe side effects can occur, apparently my doctor overlooked this which stresses me out and is causing me to worry. Anyone ever take this is in hospital with the disease? I was given 30mg injection of it.

Wow. It says it's not to be used on people with intestinal problems or stomach problems. I'd be calling someone in for an explanation.

Right. My nurse just followed my doctors orders, I googled it after I took it and seen the colitis situation, now I'm just freaking myself out. She said to wait until the morning to talk to doctor about it and let her know of any side effects.

Never even heard of it but your hospital is quite the circus. Were you given it as a shot? Try not to worry. I doubt one dose is going to mess you up. (but the worrying will).

In the hospital, I was given morphine for extreme abdominal pain (which does have some unwanted side effects) and then was switched to tramadol.

Don't freak out. It will just make you feel worse. Just don't let them give it to you again. Get some rest and you can talk to the dr in the morning.

normally one would try to avoid NSAIDs (non steroidal inflammatory drugs) with UC
its possible there is a reason they gave it to you
but i would talk to your GI tomorrow and ask
1. why are you giving me entecort- it wont help anyways, either get uceris of give me something else
2. why the toradol because NSAIDs are not normally recomended for UC
i find a good way to keep doctors in line is to ask them questions
i would ask to get a new GI while you are in the hospital, it does not sound like your GI is very competent or on top of your situation

When I am at the hospital and in pain, normally they give me morphine. But when I go to urgent care I get a toradol shot. I've never had any issues with. It might be because with the shot it bypasses the gut.
