Need advice on managing the messy part....
When flaring badly as I am now, sometimes the blood just comes out (mucus too but it's much more bright red blood) with tenesmus. Regular panty liners and pads just don't have good enough coverage to catch blood that is expelled so far back and they do not have fast absorption so blood seeps to the sides, which creates a real mess. Need to change underwear, maybe even pants....
Any suggestions on pads that will absorb better and wider, without having to wear something bulky that would look obvious under pants?
And while i'm asking, any suggestions on unscented wipes without chemicals that help clean up all the blood off my skin?
At home by my sink I can use TP and even a wash cloth and water to clean myself. Contemplating leaving home and doing this at work in bathrooms with stalls seems inconceivable. You know, I'd be trying to act like all is normal when it so isn't and there's no privacy. Of course, next step after cleaning me is to clean the toilet too....
I'd really benefit from your how-to instructions. This is so humbling...

Unscented and alcohol free wipes are around, that would be good to cut down on irritation and they've got more descrete under garments on the market (don't know the name, maybe Tena?) that's the best I can come up with...some vaselin as well on the area after each toilet trip to help avoid fissures from developing, I've had fissures, lots of little ones and on top of my Crohn's anal skin tags, they especially hurt to the point where I had to fill some water in the tub to aleviate myself in water because it stung so much more with TP wiping and I never thought of baby wipes back then, I was in too much pain to think straight most of the time and to boot, I was a new mom...this disease really puts you through the wringer.

Baby wipes you can even get small packs to travel with
And Flex - fit Depends are the best if you are having messy poops
They are thin and don't show under clothing

IF you can find them, the Cottenelle wipes with a touch of Aloe lotion are the best. If you can't find those, the Cottonelle Ultra, with some "sensitive skin" ingredient is good. The regular ones work too, but after 10-15 wipes they too can hurt.
