How much and how long have you taken flagyl for?

Flagyl has helped my gut issues , bloating and gas , I'm taking it for my fissure . My doc has me on three times a day for 28 days!!

I would take florastor with it unless you have had previous issues with it.
I was on it for a brief stint in the hospital getting it 4x daily intravenously. I believe that is what caused my c. Diff.
I was taken off of it per my request. But I still got c. Diff.

I've been on flagyl 3 times a day for 3 21 day prescriptions when I had c diff. So a total of about 2 months. It never did get rid of my c diff but it did make my UC gut issues get better.

I was on it with ciprofloxacin for three months. Think it caused my UC. However no cdiff

i usually take it for a week at a time when it is prescribed. i generally do fine on it but it does cause a lot of neuropathy for me.

I took a few courses of it when I was first diagnosed - around 28 day range as well. Usually with Cipro at the same time which was shorter around 2 weeks and Pred @40mg/day 2 weeks, then tapering.

I think I did maybe 5 - 7 courses of this combo over the first few years.

Worked like charm. Was expensive as heck though as I did not have any drug coverage and could not work because I was so ill. So it was cash out of pocket at full price. Sucked.

I took it for a week or so (possible bacterial vaginosis was written on my chart). I didn't experience any significant side effects, and I was thrilled when my horrible pelvic pain subsided after several days of treatment.
