hi everyone
i was dx with uc 3 months ago and i have been craving chess burger ,now i'm in remission should i eat one ??

I have never had foods like cheeseburger affect my UC, and not all burgers are junk food. There is a lot of food "assumptions" here. Anyway, If you have not experienced gluten/bun sensitivities, or lactates/cheese sensitivities then I would enjoy in moderation. When you might have D, eating a lot of anything can be a problem.

Truth. There's nothing inherently unhealthy about a bread roll, beef patty, cheese and salad. Even a burger from a place like McDonald's probably isn't that bad nutritionally - it's the fries and Coke/milkshake which go alongside it that put the nail in the (healthy eating) coffin.

Anyway, if you can tolerate cheeseburgers by all means have one.

Do you mean "fast-foods"? Junk food tends to fall in line with sugary foods/sweets/chips etc....fast-food burgers are not healthy, they're loaded with high sodium and the buns likely are as well along with tons of preservatives so I guess in essence it is "junk" lol. They also don't likely have much nutrition, protein and fiber and healthy fats...at least homemade would be healthier and you know more of what's in it.

Hamburgers (and cheeseburgers too) are what I order when I go out to a restaurant because they rarely add stuff my gut objects to. I ask for "no bun" which is not weird because many people are low-carb nowadays. But what my gut really likes are french fries :-) makes it very happy.

Junk food, like cheeseburgers, are fine as an occasional treat when I'm in remission.

When I'm in remission, I can eat anything. Others are different.

Try it. But start small - eat half of a regular-size burger and see what happens.

Mohammad201, if you're craving a cheeseburger than try one. You're in remission so it should be fine, unless you have a known intolerance or food trigger to one of the ingredients. Having uc doesn't mean you cannot eat certain foods. Nothing is universally off limits for everyone who has uc.

Some uc patients do have foods that bother their uc, and they avoid it (if gluten bothers someone them they may forgo the bun).

I can not eat a cheese burger but I can eat plain cheese pizza from a local place
They make there own on site very easy on my gut

cheeseburger and kebab are my typical cravings and the more i try to avoid them the more they possess me :)

The food sensitivity thing really varies from individual to individual and it can be hard to figure out because you may be sensitive to things during a flare that wouldn't normally bother you. I recommend keeping a food journal. Record what you eat and your symptoms. Pro tip: record *how much* of something you eat. When I was flaring, it was quantities more than types of food that bothered me. Cream in my coffee was okay, for instance, but if I had a glass of milk, I was sick for days.
Also, when you experiment with a food and you don't know how it'll affect you, take it to go, eat it at home, and stay in for the rest of the night. You'll save yourself a lot of frantic bathroom dashes. My GI told me that food transit time from beginning to end is 3-4 hours, but I sometimes have symptoms instantly due to spasms, etc...
