asacoal 500mg supposititories

I am on asacol 500mg suppositiories twice a day . Does any one have strange side effects that i am experiencing, rapid heart beat , red race , anxiety attacks, it is driving me mad with worry.

Have you had these symptoms with any other mesalamine including oral? If oral mesalamine is OK then there might be something in the compound that you are intolerant of. Can you switch to a different brand?

A few others here cannot use mesalamine rectals (supps and enemas). I hope you can figure it out so you can use the supps. because they are a very safe product usually and very beneficial.

The only things that bother me about these is they sit there giving you the feeling that you need a bowel movement, they also cause a mess in the toilet and the stools and never quite right when they come with the suppository remains. They do work though; and stopped me bleeding right away. Thank God.
