So I just finished my third loading dose of remicade Thursday. After 11 long weeks, I'm finally turning a corner. While I'm not in full remission, there is no more blood, only going twice in the morning, passing gas without accidents, and have some formed stool.

I'm really excited about my progress but more importantly I want to share the good things happening. I think it's human nature for many of us to only post when things are bad. But we need to hear the successes too.

To those members in remission or post surgery, who continue to follow, support and post... Thank you!!! When I thought nothing would work or things were dire, your posts gave me hope. Hopefully this post gives others hope.

I'm aware remission may not last. But today...today was a good day. I went to buy pumpkins, took a long walk in our town square, made homemade meatballs and watched the steeler game. We all need a good day to give us hope!

Could you tell a difference after the first and second dose? I just had my second and still a lot of blood, doesn't seem to be changing much :(

Thank you to everyone! Now, to hold myself back and limit my diet. I've been on low residue so long, I'm so tempted to eat veggies and fibers.

After dose 1 I saw a decrease in urgency but still a lot of blood. The number of bowel movements cut in half. about 3 weeks after dose 2 the blood suddenly stopped. After dose 3 I saw the biggest change in other symptoms.

Be patient...dose 3 seems to be a big game changer for many. Are you seeing any positive changes?

That's great news. We seem to be on a similar timeline. I'm happy to say I know how it feels. I have had 5 doses and I'm pretty much leading a normal life again. I just have urgency in the mornings and a bit of a gas problem. But I'll take that over what I had before!

Edit: Yes, dose 3 was also the big one for me. And then a steady progression after that.

That's good to know. I thought I saw a big change after dose 1, had maybe 3 BMs in the am and that was it. then it got worse again just before dose 2, after dose 2 (last Thursday) still no real change, a lot of blood, I go maybe 5 times a day ish, hoping that dose 3 does the trick! Good to hear there's still hope.
