Stomach bug season... Blech

I own a childrens cooking school and we have anywhere from 150-200 different kids come in each week. Over the past few days, we've had students, parents and a couple of staff report the stomach bug.

My staff has thankfully stayed away, but shockingly we had 3 parents come in while actively sick and a few students who are just getting over it. ( why can't people stay home when they are sick?)

I'm on remicade and just barely out of a flare. I have the luxury of working from home... Would I be smart to work from home all week or is that being too cautious?

I don't want to risk a slide back to a flare.

Oh stomach bug season! My favorite time! NOT!! I am such a germa phobe even before I got UC.

At this point, you have already been around the germs so if your going to get it your going to get it. Not much you can do about it.

So far since my daughter has been in school (she is almost 8), she has had many different "bugs" and has only really shared two with me. The vomiting one didn't affect my UC at all. The diarrhea one took me a bit longer to overcome than it did her. I tripled my probiotics for awhile to help things along.

Would I stay home? Nope because you would need to stay home from now until school lets out because there is always something going around. Ugh

There are two kid sicknesses I hate more than anything else, pink eye and stomach bugs. I agree that you have likely already been exposed so just wash hands often.

It's the worst!
I guess I should have mentioned that I was out of the office sat, sun, and today so had no exposure to any of the sick people. Thinking I'm better off avoiding it at this point. Called in our cleaning crew to do a deep clean, and going to stay home at least tomorrow.

While I'd love them to find a cure for colitis or cancer, I'd really welcome a viral vaccine for the stomach bug!
