Just offering some information SIBO

Hi I've had bleaching, stinky gas, bloating, eating because I had burning in my stomach and throat even though I wasn't hungry and diarrhea for years! What has helped me is the antibiotic rifaximin for small intestinal bowel overgrowth ( SIBO) just thought I would share. It's been better than anything else I have tried. I just thought I had GERD but there was more to it. I just googled some info and it was very helpful to my situation , I presented it to my GI and my gI prescribed it. He believes it helps a lot of people with IBD. Just sharing. :)

I either have SIBO or Candidiasis because my UC goes away by taking small amounts of Potassium Sorbate a 'Mold Inhibitor'. This became obvious when I ate food containing it and listed on the ingredients. That is pretty gross ( wiki on Candidiasis ) maybe I just have a lot of Candida.

I took 550mg twice a day for 7 days, I took align each night and a few days after. It give me gas though so I have not taken it in a few days. My GI said rotate with cipro/flagyl if my gas, bloating,burning and belching comes back, but take a week or two off and then start again.

No I never had a test, just went my symptoms.

Thanks for sharing about SIBO, it can only help that others are aware of that possibility. But what I find really interesting is your initiative to take responsibility and the research you had to do on your own. That is a lesson for all of us.
