Chest pains?

I know the feeling. Middle of your chest-you almost mistook it for your heart or possible heart attack right?

I was having those pains at the beginning of my flare and since taking prednisone I experienced it as well. I typically have it more so when I am moving (walking, etc) or if I haven't taken my prednisone in a while I have bee on Prednisone for a few weeks now. I used to experience it everyday-especially if I did any real physical activity. In the past week or so it has only emerged when I do a lot of activity or if I go more than 12 hours between taking my morning and afternoon prednisone dosage. My doctor told me it was a normal side effect of UC and Pred.

BUT-AND THIS IS IMPORTANT Any chest pain in my opinion should be brought up to the doctor just in case. If the pain is severe or you feel is more than just an ache, I would get it checked out. Regardless of the degree of the pain or sharpness, I would mention it to your doctor the next time you are there just to make sure it isn't another medical situation.

^ To add on to what Dikid said, my prednisone has also lead to heart palpation and skipped heartbeat, which may also contribute to the chest pain. Make sure you are getting the nutrients and vitamins you need, and again, I cannot stress this enough, if you feel you need to seek medical treatment, do it. Its better to waste your time on nothing than it is to suffer from a medical crisis.

I was diagnosed with serositis which is extremly rare but can be caused by Colitis says my pulmonary doc. Tissue lining of heart & lungs are inflamed. Not fun
