Total Colectomy, have some questions

I'm 16 and underwent a total colectomy from UC. My surgeon plans on having my surgery before this christmas, but it depends on the test on my pouch this Tuesday (11/10/15). I am starting my college this summer and I have questions for those who have already had their reversal procedures. Since I will be a college student on campus, how often do you guys have BM's/day? Also, my surgeon has told me that he made my pouch pretty big (bigger than other surgeons would do), and would I be able to hold in my stool (he left part of the rectum in)? And, since I will be planning on going to Med school, I will have to take rigorous courses, and is stress a major factor to trigger other problems even though I removed the source of my previous complications (the colon)? Lastly, is there a high risk of complications (infections, hematomas, etc.) during/after the reversal procedure? Would Immodium or anti-diarrhetic medication help decrease the amount of BM's/day? My understanding is as follows. Once your new pouch is attached and settles in (it takes a while until it does adapt and function like a large intestine does) 4-6 nonurgent bms a day is the goal. Unlike with uc, you can hold it for 30 minutes or more before having to poop, and those poops aren't clustered closely together (like all within an hour of waking up as with uc urgencies), but rather spaced in different parts of the day and sometimes overnight hours, as well.

Part of the rectum is left when the colectomy is done, as you need those muscles for sphincter control. They'll be attached to your new pouch in the takedown surgery.
