Do you think it would be safe to eat homemade sushi every day for someone with ibd ?

Yes, enjoy eating your sushi unless it is know to aggravate your uc. There is no food that's specifically forbidden to those of us with ibd, across the board. Those of us on immunosuppressive medications have a little more reason to take a pause, but in the end there is risk in everything. Just make sure it's the freshest fish you can get, and play it safe there as anyone could get sick otherwise...

I was told by my first GI that I should not as immune system is compromised
but if you cook the fish I dont see why not
my question is, why are you eating the same food everyday? its healthier to get a variety and its hard for many of us but if you can its better for you because you can get more nutrients

Shellfish is problematic for many of us. But if you can eat fish then sushi might be OK.
My problem with sushi is larvae, worms, and parasites. So it is probably safer to eat raw fish that was previously frozen to kill parasites.

I love sushi and eat it regularly.
You said "everyday" and that would be an issue for everyone, not just IBD patients because of all the mercury in seafood.

Note that freezing does not kill all pathogens.
Salmon is relativity low in Mercury.
I love sushi that was one of my favorite foods. I buy this imitation crab stuff that is made of cooked fish. I also make it with baked salmon sometimes.
But raw tuna was my fave and I miss it.

Sushi isn't necessarily raw fish ... General misconception. Sushi is far broader term in terms of ingredients and can be cooked or raw. It can be a whole load of different ingredients with rice ... And as such represent a reasonably varied diet (although not something i'd eat everyday). Love sushi - causes me no problems. Home made (if fish based) the issue is obtaining Sushi grade fish... Which certainly needs to be obtained from a specialist supplier. I usually get round this by using vegetables only or, the Norwegian version to suit western tastes ... Using salmon (smoked or cooked).
Give it a go... Goes great with a cocktail or two 😊

i'd say yes- i dont think sushi is unsafe at all. i used to make it all the time and had my own little wooden roller for the nori.
there can be risks when you eat sashimi (raw fish) and being on immune system suppressing drugs so i've never had sushi made with raw fish.
