When you see your GI you will probably get an RX for oral meds but very important to also get an RX script
for rectal meds. Enemas are best because they treat a larger area of rectum but if you have UP-ulcerative proctitis you may get suppositories instead. If your GI does not give you a script
for rectal meds ask for it. These do so much more to treat the area directly than oral meds do and you will not be sorry you used them.
Using the enemas at bedtime is best, least active time for bowel. Search the forum for help in using them. It takes a couple tries to get used to them but you should see better symptoms after using.
