getting better

so after my episode of heavy bleeding from taking urius i went back to my old meds i started 12 years ago 2 lialda 20 mg pred in am and 2 lialda 20mg pred at night i stopped hydro enimas after using for 3 weeks they seemed not to be working. after 4 days i have way less bm's 2 sometimes 3 much much less blood combined with low residue low fiber diet i still have clear diarrhea with string bean stool much less pains, just hope i get normal poop i was about to go into the hospital from bleeding for iv steroids but im passed that i wanted total remission but i will take being able to make it to the bathroom and live with it

Have you talked to your GI about the change of medications? If not, then I recommend you at least talk to him or her. Your doc is there to help you achieve remission and if you switch things up without their knowledge how can they further help you? And besides that many GI's might find an unauthorized switch as non compliance whether or not you are seeing an improvement.

However, if you did this with your GI consent and while on pred which can help you achieve remission it's more or less just a bandaid. You need to find a regime that works well even if you were to stop steroids.
