4 days after remicade

It's day 4 after remicade - now just brown liquid bms, wind though the odd streak of blood this morning. Is it working? Changed down to 40mg oral steroids from iv 3 days ago, so could this have an impact?

Should it be much better by now? Slightly worried because I might be leaving today?

Any thoughts?

Will you be staying on remicade? I would suggest you do. It might take some time until it takes effect.

Remicade usually takes at least the 3 loading doses to show improvements in most patients (given on weeks 0, 2 and 6). I saw a small improvement a week after the second infusion, a much bigger improvement a week after the third infusion, and slow and steady improvements until I reached remission after a full year of remicade.

Give 8 weeks before you make major decisions if it's working or not. Tapering the pred will also make things hard to tell

Hi all

Yes, I have two more infusions planned in the next weeks. I have to start my pred taper the day after tomorrow, so I guess I just have to keep watching it. Got out of hospital last night and got 7 hours sleep, which might help. Too soon to know if the Remicade is working, I guess. Trying to think positive thoughts!!! Hope you having a better time of things. Happy & Healthy New Year with calm colons to us all.
