I know this is gonna burn some already burned chaps, but when I come on the UC forum I WANT to read about how people are dealing with UC with medication.

If I wanted to talk surgury I would go to that forum.

Maybe they should be more of a line of demarcation between the two. So dont post here if that is your choice.

Frankly when I first came here snd was bombarded with surgery options it was quite frightening.

Well, there are some very long time members that probably feel very comfortable here and have made friends with other members in this forum.

With that said, if anyone does not want to read about anyone's surgery, etc.....just don't go in that particular thread.

Newsflash.....surgery is an option for UC patients. And more often than you may think, it's necessary. Did you have a bad surgery once on a body part that went wrong? What exactly is your problem?

Marianne frankly your posts are my problem. You encouaged me during a flare to see a surgeon two years ago!

You need to be restrained. You could be doing more harm then good with your suggestions.

Then don't look at threads about alternatives, diet, surgery, environmental triggers, or research advances.

You can't expect a UC forum to be the UC_MEDS forum just cause thats your interest.

Also, as I understand the ostomies and j-pouch forums are for folks dealing with those realities. Not necessarily for folks approaching those realities.

Some discussion belongs here as it is one treatment option.

well technically, there is no "surgery" forum - the ostomy forum is for those with ostomies that need advice how to take care of them -

at least that's how i see it -

and of course talk of surgery is frightening - i guess that's why there is no forum for it - folks would be to scared to post shocked


a mod better shut this one down - i think it's gonna get ugly !

People on this forum give out lots of advice. It's up to the person reading whether or not they want to take that advice or not take that advice.
