UC rising in Ireland's children fits the pattern of higher IBD incidence in northern European countries. Perhaps it is genetic weakness but rates are rising in other countries too so it indicates not only genetics but something in addition and maybe northern Europeans are just the first responders to the cause of UC and Crohn's.
I am 98% British Isles and Ireland genes so I have an interest in this. So sad about
more children being diagnosed, thankfully I had my first 46 years without UC.
