Well I have gone from 6-10 bms a day to 1-2 in 3-4 days. I changed from Mezavant to Salofalk granules 9 days ago and been on 20mg of pred for 7 days.

The thing is now that I am having anxiety attacks and worrying that I have only been once today.

Its crazy I know and I should be pleased but.......

I'm so sorry you're having anxiety attacks. They are truly awful. I was in weepy/rage/anxious/heart flutter mode when on pred. (I started at 60mg) My doc suggested that I take .5-1mg of lorazepam as needed to help with anxiety. I hated the layering of drugs, but the lorazepam certainly helped ease the anxiety that the pred was creating in me. Enjoy not being in the bathroom, sit quietly and focus on your breath for a few minutes several times a day, and understand that your anxiety is from the pred. Good wishes for good health.

1-2 a day is great - but expected on 20mg of prednisone. We all have anxiety, it's a side effect of having UC. On the other hand, it sounds like you're doing well and there is a high likelihood that you will pull through and maintain on the sallofalk, so try to think positive.

I would assume the anxiety would be from the pred. You could ask the doc for something to counter it...but that would be another medication.

Good to hear things are improving.

Just know that you have good reason to be ticked and distressed about the anxiety....ihappiness isnt all inclusive. If it were, one would be in total denial.

Hang tough....hope as you taper, the anxiety lessens.
